In Ayurveda, Vata is the dosha (energetic principle) of air and space. After birth, Vata becomes elevated due to the physical and emotional shifts of labor, delivery, and the sudden space where your baby once was. Elevated Vata can cause anxiety, restlessness, dryness, overwhelm, and trouble sleeping. My postpartum care is designed to bring warmth, grounding, and oiliness to balance Vata and support deep healing.

Ideally, Ayurvedic postpartum care begins within the first week after birth, as early care has the most impact on healing and Vata balance. That said, it’s never too late. Whether you're in week one, week six, or even months postpartum, these practices can still deeply support your recovery, energy, and emotional well-being.

Yes — I arrive with everything needed for your healing session, including warmed Abhyanga oils, belly bind wraps, steaming herbs & sitz soak blends. All you need to do is rest and receive. If any prep is needed on your end (like towels or kitchen warming), I’ll let you know in advance. The cost of ingredients for meal preparation is not included in the service rate. Grocery expenses will be billed separately or provided in advance by the client.

Not at all. While the first 42 days are considered the sacred window of deepest restoration, many mothers seek support weeks or even years after birth. The Vata imbalance of postpartum can linger, and Ayurvedic care is beneficial for anyone feeling depleted, anxious, ungrounded, or in need of healing touch — no matter how long ago they gave birth.

That’s absolutely okay. These sessions are baby-friendly and intuitively paced. We’ll pause as needed, and I’ll support both of you as a dyad. Infant Abhyanga or holding space for feeding can easily be woven into our time together. There’s no need to worry — your baby is welcome in every moment of your healing.
